Accessibility statement for Talk with Nordea Private Banking online service

This accessibility statement explains how well the online service ‘talk.nordea.fi’ complies with the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services, what gaps there are in the accessibility of the service and how you can give us feedback on accessibility issues.

Nordea Bank Abp is responsible for this online service. We want as many users as possible to be able to use our digital services. We take accessibility into account in the development of our digital services.

The observations in this accessibility statement are based on a third-party assessment of whether the online service meets the legal requirements. This statement was prepared on 21 December 2020. The statement was last updated on 21 December 2020.

How accessible is the website?

This online service meets the A and AA level accessibility criteria required by law to a large extent (WCAG criteria 2.1). The online service has some accessibility gaps which are described in more detail below.

Detailed information on technical accessibility

The online service is not yet fully accessible.

Content or features that are not yet accessible

  • The website contains images or graphics that have no descriptive text alternative, such as “logo” or the linguistically incorrect “back to home”.  (WCAG 1.1.1)

  • The page showing the search results does not open with all screen readers, and an unnecessary error page opens for all others. (WCAG 4.1.3)

  • The website contains English elements on Finnish pages. (WCAG 3.1.2)

  • The website contains some non-descriptive headings. (WCAG 2.4.6)

  • The online service contains some ambiguous link texts. (WCAG 2.4.4)

  • The titles of some pages are in English on Finnish pages, such as “archives”. (WCAG 2.4.2)

  • The website does not contain a ‘jump to main content’ link. The website should also include either a breadcrumb trail or a site map to ease navigation. (WCAG 2.4.1 and WCAG 2.4.5)

  • The website contains text overlapping images, which makes the contrast ratio too low in some places. (WCAG 1.4.3, WCAG 1.4.11)

  • The audio volume of videos cannot be controlled with screen readers. (WCAG 1.4.2)

  • Screen readers interpret the main navigation as two separate lists, which confuses screen reader users. (WCAG 1.3.1)

  • Some pages are missing the level 1 heading and the heading hierarchy of the site is incoherent in some places. (WCAG 1.3.1)

Accessibility requirements do not apply to certain content

  • The online service contains videos that do not include captions, links to their text alternatives or audio descriptions (WCAG 1.2.2, 1.2.3, WCAG 1.2.5). Under the law, any audio or video content published prior to 23 September 2020 does not need to be made accessible retroactively.

An effort will be made to close the gaps listed in this statement by Janyary 2021.
