- What is Apple Pay?
Apple Pay is a service produced by Apple allowing you to make credit card payments with the Apple Pay mobile app on your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Mac. It enables making payments with these devices without the actual card.
- How safe is Apple Pay?
It’s very safe. Apple Pay uses strong security features built-in to the hardware and software of your phone. Apple can't access your card details or disclose them to merchants in connection with payment transactions.
Apple Pay uses a device-specific number and a unique transaction code for each purchase, and each transaction requires you to confirm it with Touch ID, Face ID or passcode. Remember to always use strong passwords or passcodes and avoid “1234” or “0000”, for example.
If you lose your phone, third parties can’t see your card details or make payments with your phone without identity verification. If you lose your card, you can get a new one on your phone right away.
