We stopped issuing new Finnair Plus Mastercards as of 1 January 2023. If you have a Finnair Plus Mastercard, you can continue using it as usual. Please note that as of 1 November 2023 Finnair Plus points will no longer be earned for purchases made with the card. Read more on this page.

The card cooperation between Nordea and Finnair will end in October 2023

We will apply the following amendments to the Terms of the Finnair Plus Mastercard credit account as of 1 November 2023:

  • We will remove the text concerning the accumulation of points in clause 1 Definitions.

Billing and transactions

Credit card transactions

You can view your credit card transactions and balance via Nordea Mobile and Nordea Netbank. You can also view your invoices in the e-invoice archive and in Nordea Finance’s OmaLuotto service using the online banking codes of other banks. Your credit card bill doubles as your account statement.

In Nordea Mobile, you can view your credit card transactions by clicking on the name of the card on the front page or by going to Overview. Your transaction history covers a period of between one and three months depending on the type of card. Older transactions can be found in your previous bills.

To browse your credit card transactions in the new Netbank, click on the name of the card on the front page. Your transaction history covers a period of between one and three months depending on the type of card. If you cannot see your card transactions, you may need to enable card transaction queries. Older transactions can be found in your previous bills.

You will need to enable the card transaction queries in the old Netbank. Go to Edit Netbank > Optional credit card services, enable transaction query and confirm by clicking Save. The transaction query feature is free of charge.

Please note that the name of the vendor with whom you used your card may be different from the name of the biller shown in your bill; this is often the case with, for example, restaurants and taxi companies.

30-day interest-free payment period on credit cards

The interest-free payment period effectively gives you a free loan for a period of at least 30 days.

Here is an example involving the purchase of a vacuum cleaner: You have chosen to pay your credit card bill on the 15th of each month, and your current billing period covers from 25 March until 26 April. It makes sense to coordinate your credit card payment date with you payday to make sure that you have money available when your bill is due.

  • 1 April: You buy a vacuum cleaner
  • 15 April: Your previous credit card bill from March is due
  • 15 May: Payment for your purchases in April, including the vacuum cleaner, is due

A new billing period starts on 26 April, and any purchases you make after that date will be included in your June bill. Even if you buy the vacuum cleaner on 26 April instead of 1 April, you will still have to pay for it on 15 May. If you buy the vacuum cleaner on 27 April, however, you will have until 15 June to pay. You can optimise your credit card billing period to make it as long as possible. By waiting until 27 April to buy the vacuum cleaner, you can get 45 days interest free to pay for it.

What changes can I make to my credit card myself?

You can view and edit your credit card billing date, instalment percentage and instalment-free months in the old Netbank under Everyday finances > Cards > Changes to credit card. Changing your instalment percentage is subject to a fee for changing the repayment schedule based on our latest tariff.

If you need to change the billing date or the amount of a payment that has already been calculated, you can call Nordea Customer Service or use our chat function. Changes are subject to a service charge.

You can find information about your credit card billing period, monthly transactions and payment history in your credit card bill. If you have opted for e-invoicing, itemized bills can be accessed in Nordea Netbank and Nordea Mobile.

One-off payments

You can make additional payments or pay off your credit card balance in full at any time. You can also increase the amount of your regular payments.

Changing your card payments and billing preferences in Nordea Mobile or our new Netbank is easy. You can find more detailed instructions in the app or Netbank.

You can pay off your credit card balance in full at any time. To view your balance in Nordea Mobile or Nordea Netbank, click on the name of the card.

You can edit the amount of your next monthly payment to clear your balance. Your bill will show both the total balance remaining on the card and the amount of interest until your next payment date.

If your card number starts with 522, you can check your closing balance by calling our Customer Service / billing team on +358 (0)9 6964 6011 (between 8.00 and 20.00 from Monday to Friday).
