How to activate the Nordea ID app for the first time

Whenever you want to start using the Nordea ID app, you need to install and activate it on your device. We recommend that you install and activate your Nordea ID app on more than one device. You need to order the activation code and temporary PIN separately for each device, as you can only use them once.

Download the Nordea ID app

Find the Nordea ID app in your app store and install it on your device.

Activate the app

  1. Open the Nordea ID app and start the activation by naming your profile.
  2. Select your country, language and customer type.
  3. Select “Other bank’s credentials” as the authentication method.
  4. Enter your Nordea user ID.
  5. You will be transferred to the authentication page where you can select the mobile certificate or the bank whose credentials you want to use.
  6. Once you have completed the authentication, the app will ask you to confirm the phone number to which the activation code will be sent.
  7. Before entering the activation code, we will ask you to confirm the activation of the Nordea ID app with your bank’s credentials.
  8. You can now enter the 10-digit activation code that you received by SMS.
  9. Choose a 4–8 digit PIN. In future, you will use this PIN when logging in to services and confirming payments with the Nordea ID app. 

 Your Nordea ID app is now ready to use!

How to activate your Nordea ID app on another device

Whenever you want to start using the Nordea ID app on a new device, you need to install and activate the app on that device. We recommend that you install and activate your Nordea ID app on more than one mobile device. The easiest way to activate the app on another device is through a QR code.

Download the Nordea ID app

Find the Nordea ID app in your app store and install it on your new device.

Make sure that both your old and new device have the latest version of the Nordea ID app and are connected to the internet. You can use either mobile data (SIM card) or a wireless network (wi-fi) or share a network connection from another device. 

Activate the app

  1. Open the Nordea ID app on your new device and name your user profile.
  2. Select your country, language and customer type.
  3. Select “Activate on this device” and follow the steps in the app.
  4. Open the Nordea ID app on your old device and select “Activate in another device”.
  5. Enter your Nordea user ID and the PIN for the app.
  6. The app will give you a QR code, which you can use to activate the Nordea ID app on your new device.
  7. Use the camera on your new device to scan the QR code from your old device.
  8. Once you have scanned the QR code, you are asked to choose a 4–8 digit PIN.  

Your Nordea ID app is now activated and you can close your old device.
