How to claim on Nordea MyLife and Nordea Personal Life Cover

You can claim compensation on the following types of cover:

    • Critical illness cover, which covers the following: cancer, heart attack, acute coronary angioplasty, coronary artery bypass, stroke, multiple sclerosis, renal insufficiency and major organ transplant. 
    • Permanent disability cover if you are suffering from a permanent disability and are unable to perform suitable work that provides you with a reasonable income. 
    • Cover for permanent disability or handicap resulting from an accident if you have suffered a permanent handicap specified in the insurance terms and conditions as a result of an accident or if you are suffering from a permanent disability due to an accident and are unable to perform suitable work that provides you with a reasonable income.

Claim compensation for critical illness

Critical illness cover compensates you for the following: cancer, heart attack, acute coronary angioplasty, coronary artery bypass, stroke, multiple sclerosis, renal insufficiency and major organ transplant.

1. Submit your claim

  1. Log in to the Insurance self-serviceOpens new window. You can also log in to the service with other Finnish banks’ online banking credentials.
  2. Select Korvaushakemukset and then the insurance cover which the claim concerns.
  3. Fill in the claim form and confirm that you want to submit it. 

2. Send the attachments in a secure message

You will receive a secure message from us on the next day, and you can send the attachments by replying to the message. You will find the message in Nordea Mobile and Netbank. You will also receive the message in Nordea OmapostiOpens new window, to which you can log in if you have online banking credentials from another Finnish bank. Since the message is secure, your documents will go to the insurance company and no one else.

Required attachments:
  • copy of an extensive doctor’s certificate (medical statement B) or
  • copy of a corresponding doctor’s certificate or
  • copy of a medical statement from which we can verify when the insured event occurred.

3. Claim decision

  • Once we have processed your claim, we will send our decision to you in Nordea OmapostiOpens new window
  • If we approve your claim, we will pay the compensation to the account you have specified. 
  • If the compensation is pledged for a loan, the compensation will be used directly towards the repayment of your loan.

Claim compensation for permanent disability

You can make a claim if you are suffering from a permanent disability and are unable to perform any suitable work that provides you with a reasonable income.

1. Submit your claim

Claiming compensation on Nordea loan protection insurance or insurance held by your company

You can claim compensation on your Nordea Loan Cover or Nordea Loan Cover Plus insurance only by using a printed form. You can claim compensation on the following types of cover:

An extensive doctor’s certificate (medical statement B) or similar doctor’s certificate or a copy of a medical statement from which we can verify that an insured event has occurred. Please send us copies of the documents, as we will not return original ones.
