Accessibility statement for Nordea’s student loan application form

This accessibility statement applies to the student loan application form and it was published on 14th December 2020 and updated on 16th December 2022. The service is subject to the Finnish Act on the Provision of Digital Services, which requires the websites of credit institutions to be accessible. We have assessed the accessibility of the service ourselves.

The tags on the service pages may contain errors due to which the structure of the pages may be illogical.

2.1.1 Keyboard(A) – Make all functionality available from a keyboard

There are shortcomings in the accessibility of the application form from a keyboard:

It is not possible to continue from the front page to the application form with the Start button from a keyboard.

There are shortcomings in the accessibility of selecting a withdrawal agreement.

Additional information through the question mark icon cannot be accessed from a keyboard.

2.1.2 No keyboard trap

The application form contains links to loan documents. Return using a keyboard is not possible from pages opened through links.

2.2.1 Timing adjustable (A)

The application session expires after 15 minutes if the application form is inactive in the browser.

There are shortcomings in the keyboard focus indicator.

3.1.1 Language of page (A) – The default human language of each Web page can be programmatically determined.

The values of the user interface components do not in all situations support the assistive technologies, such as the screen reader.

4.1.3 Status messages

The status messages cannot be read by the assistive technologies, such as the screen reader, in all situations.
