If You insurance is offered to persons aged 18-28 who are covered by the Finnish Health Insurance Act. The policyholder must be a Finnish resident in accordance with the Municipality of Residence Act, and must also ordinarily live in Finland.
The home insurance only covers personal possessions in Finland. Home insurance applies to items belonging to the policyholder and persons who permanently live in the same household with the policyholder. The insurance applies to the address stated in the insurance policy and temporarily anywhere in the world for a period of up to one year. It also provides cover for your possessions when you move and when you travel.
Sports cover
As a rule, the insurance covers normal exercise to maintain physical fitness, such as aerobics, jogging, floorball and gym.
However, cover for medical care and accident insurance for travellers do not apply to competitions, matches or training arranged by a sports association or sports club. Also excluded from the insurance are situations where the policyholder is undergoing training according to a fitness training programme or tries their hand at extreme sports. Such sports include sports climbing (with the exception of wall climbing using safety equipment), martial arts and self-defence sports, scuba diving and off-piste skiing.
Contrary to what is stated above, however, travel insurance does apply to the following activities:
- supervised introductory scuba diving or a basic scuba diving skills course
- supervised introduction to forms of climbing and glacier hiking of up to 4 hours
- hot air balloon ride (does not apply to the pilot) and bungee jumping
- tandem hang gliding or paragliding and tandem skydiving (does not apply to the actual instructor or skydiver).
