The use of the white code calculator has ended – what do I do?

The white code calculator was retired on 15 September 2025. From then on, you needed either the Nordea ID app or the black Nordea ID device. Note: It will be possible to use the white code calculator throughout September to allow time for our customers to receive their new means of identification. After 30 March 2025, you were not able to log in to Nordea Mobile with the white code calculator.

The Nordea ID app is an app that you install on your mobile phone or tablet. With this app, you can log in to Nordea Mobile and Netbank, confirm online payments and access other public online services, such as MyTax and MyKanta. Read more about the Nordea ID app

The Nordea ID device is for you if you are unable to use the Nordea ID app on a mobile device. With this device, you can log in to Nordea Netbank, confirm online payments and access other public online services. You can bring your white code calculator to a designated collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment free of charge.

How do I activate my black Nordea ID device?

Before you can start using your black Nordea ID device, you must activate it. For this you need an activation code.

You will receive the activation code around the same time as the device. The activation code consists of ten digits and will be sent to you in an SMS.

If you have already received the activation code, follow these steps to activate your Nordea ID device:

1. Press OK to turn on your Nordea ID device.
2. Select the language by pressing 1 (English), 2 (Finnish) or 3 (Swedish).
3. Confirm your selection by pressing the OK button.
4. Once the device’s camera is turned on, press C. Enter your activation code and press OK.
5. Next you need to create your personal PIN (4–8 digits) and enter it twice into the device.
6. Confirm the creation of a PIN by pressing OK.

Now the Nordea ID device is activated and ready to use. 

How do I activate the Nordea ID app?

After you have installed the Nordea ID app on your mobile device, you can activate it directly in the app.

1. Open the Nordea ID app.
2. Name your profile and select your country, language and customer type.
3. Select the relevant activation method and verify your identity.
4. Order the 10-digit activation code as a text message and enter the code into the app.
5. The last thing you need to do is choose a 4 to 8 digit PIN, which you will use to log in to the Nordea ID app.

How do I switch from a paper invoice to an e-invoice?

You can make an e-invoice agreement in Nordea Mobile or Netbank under ‘Payments and e-invoices’. When you’re subscribing to an e-invoice, the invoicer often requests an identification detail, such as a reference or customer number. You can usually find this identification detail on your paper invoice. Read more about e-invoices

How do I open a strong electronic e-identification for my child?

You can set up banking services, such as a current account, debit card and online banking credentials, for your underage child by filling in our online application. Both of the child’s guardians must consent to opening the banking services. A single parent with sole custody can set up banking services for a minor without the other parent’s approval.

It is possible to add e-identification, which is a form of strong electronic identification, to your child’s online banking credentials. This allows your child to log in to various services provided by third parties, such as the HSL ticket app or Kela’s e-service. E-identification can be added to a child’s online banking credentials separately by booking an appointment at a Nordea branch. As a general rule, the child must be at least 10 years old.
