How to activate the Nordea ID app for the first time

Whenever you want to start using the Nordea ID app on a new device, you need to install and activate the app on that device. We recommend that you install and activate your Nordea ID app on more than one device. You need to order the activation code and temporary PIN separately for each device, as you can only use them once.

Your Nordea ID app is now ready to use. 

If you want, you can add biometric data to the app to enable facial recognition or fingerprint authentication. This will make the app even safer to use and allow you to log in faster.

Activate the app

  1. Open the Nordea ID app and start the activation by naming your profile.
  2. Select your country, language and customer type.
  3. Select “I have another bank’s credentials” as the activation method.
  4. Select your bank or a mobile ID as the authentication method.
  5. You will be directed to the authentication page where you can select mobile ID or your bank.
  6. Once you have verified your identity, the app will ask you to confirm your phone number. We will send your activation code to this number.
  7. You can now enter the 10-digit activation code that you received by SMS.
  8. Choose a 4–8 digit PIN. You will use this PIN to log in to services and confirm transactions with the Nordea ID app. 

 Your Nordea ID app is now ready to use!

How to transfer the Nordea ID app to another phone or tablet

If you are already using the Nordea ID app and want to transfer it to another phone or tablet, follow the instructions below.

Make sure that both your old and new device have the latest version of the Nordea ID app. Both devices must also be connected to the internet. You can use either mobile data (SIM card) or a wireless network (wi-fi) or share a network connection from another device. 

Activate the app

  1. Open the Nordea ID app on your new device and name your user profile.
  2. Select your country, language and customer type.
  3. Select “Activate on this device” and follow the steps in the app.
  4. Open the Nordea ID app on your old device and select “Activate in another device”.
  5. Enter your Nordea user ID and the PIN for the app.
  6. The app will give you a QR code, which you can use to activate the Nordea ID app on your new device.
  7. Use the camera on your new device to scan the QR code from your old device.
  8. Once you have scanned the QR code, you are asked to choose a 4–8 digit PIN. 

Your Nordea ID app is now activated and you can close your old device.
