Apply for a credit limit increase in Nordea Mobile or Netbank

Make the most of your credit card by ensuring its limit matches your spending needs. For example, paying for an expensive holiday on credit may require a higher limit. Depending on your card and financial situation, you can apply for a credit limit between 2,500 and 50,000 euros.

The application is free and can be done easily in Nordea Mobile or Netbank. Please note that approval requires well-managed finances and a regular income.

Note these when you apply for an increase

If you increase the credit limit on your Nordea card issued before 1 May 2026, the margin will be the same as with our new cards and the account management fee will be removed. Our new cards also have different maximum and minimum credit limits than our old cards, so please check these before you apply for a credit limit increase or decrease.

Easily adjust other features of your credit card

You can adjust the following to suit your needs:

  • Instalment percentage – decide how much of your outstanding balance you pay back each month.
  • Instalment-free months – enjoy up to two months per year where you only pay interest and fees.
  • Due date – choose the day of the month that works best for you.

How to make these changes

  1. Go to your card details in Nordea Mobile or Netbank.
  2. Select “Edit credit”.
  3. Make your changes and confirm them. 
Tip

Control your monthly payments

  • Lower instalment percentage:Your monthly payment is smaller, giving you more flexibility in your repayment schedule.
  • Higher instalment percentage:Your monthly payment is larger, but you’ll pay off your credit faster. This will reduce your overall credit costs.

Regardless of your chosen percentage, you can always make overpayments or pay off the entire balance at any time.

How to apply for a higher credit limit

You can apply to increase your credit limit if you have a regular income, a good payment history and a clean credit record. The factors determining the credit limit you can get include your income, your current debt and the balance of your finances.

How to apply for a higher credit limit on Nordea Platinum

You can apply to increase the credit limit on your Nordea Platinum card to up to 50,000 euros.

  1. Go to the Services tab in Nordea Mobile or Netbank.
  2. Select “Credit and payment cards” and then “Nordea Platinum Mastercard”.
  3. Start the application by selecting “Raise card limit”.
  4. Fill in and submit your application.

You can apply to increase the credit limit on your Nordea Gold card to up to 10,000 euros.

  1. Go to your card details in Nordea Mobile or Netbank.
  2. Start the application by selecting “Increase credit limit”.
  3. Fill in and submit your application.

How to apply for a higher credit limit on Nordea Credit

You can increase the credit limit on your Nordea Credit card to up to 5,000 euros.

  1. Go to the Services tab in Nordea Mobile or Netbank.
  2. Select “Credit and payment cards” and then “Nordea Credit”.
  3. Select “Raise your credit card limit” and fill in our contact form.
  4. We will call you once we have received your contact request.

How to apply for a higher credit limit on Nordea Premium

You can apply to increase the credit limit on your Nordea Premium card to up to 20,000 euros.

The Nordea Premium credit limit increase application is not available in Nordea Mobile or Netbank. You can apply for a credit limit increase by filling in our online form.

Annual percentage rate on credit

Note that we charge interest on credit card payments if you don’t pay off your credit balance within 30 days. If you withdraw cash or transfer money to your bank account, we will charge interest starting from the withdrawal date.

Example calculation for Nordea Gold

With a Nordea Gold credit card, the annual percentage rate for an outstanding credit balance of 1,500 euros is 22.1% when the 3-month Euribor reference rate is 2.08% (April 2026). The calculation assumes that you have opted for the free e-invoice, repay the credit in 12 monthly instalments (133 euros) and pay 2.99 euros per month for the credit facility. The calculation does not include any additional services included in the total monthly fee for the card. The estimated total cost of the credit is 1,669 euros.

The creditor is Nordea Bank Abp, Satamaradankatu 5, Helsinki, or Nordea Finance Finland Ltd, Aleksis Kiven katu 9, Helsinki.

Example calculation for Nordea Platinum

With a Nordea Platinum credit card, the annual percentage rate for an outstanding credit balance of 1,500 euros is 17% when the 3-month Euribor reference rate is 2.08% (April 2026). The calculation assumes that you have opted for the free e-invoice, repay the credit in 12 monthly instalments (133 euros) and pay 2.99 euros per month for the credit facility. The calculation does not include any additional services included in the total monthly fee for the card. The estimated total cost of the credit is 1,632 euros.

Example calculation for Nordea Credit

With a Nordea Credit credit card, the annual percentage rate for an outstanding credit balance of 1,500 euros is 23.3% when the 3-month Euribor reference rate is 2.08% (April 2026). The calculation assumes that you have opted for the free e-invoice, repay the credit in 12 monthly instalments (133 euros) and the monthly fee for the card is 2.99 euros. The estimated total cost of the credit is 1,677 euros.

Example calculation for Nordea Premium

With a Nordea Premium credit card, the actual annual percentage rate of charge for an outstanding credit balance of 1,500 euros is 30,16 % when the 3-month Euribor reference rate is 2,36 % (04/2025), the monthly account management fee is 4.50 euros, the annual fee for the principal card is 90 euros, the customer has opted for the free e-invoice and repays the credit in 12 monthly instalments (145 euros). The estimated total cost of the credit is 1,725 euros. Nordea Premium Mastercard is an international charge and credit card and a continuous credit facility which is valid until further notice. The creditor is Nordea Bank Abp, Satamaradankatu 5, Helsinki, or Nordea Finance Finland Ltd, Aleksis Kiven katu 9, Helsinki.
