How to become a customer online

You can sign up as a Nordea customer online if:

  • You are an adult residing in Finland.
  • You have a valid Finnish passport or identity card. Please note that a driving licence is not accepted.
  • You have online banking credentials from another Finnish bank.
  • You have a Finnish phone number.
  • You have a clean credit history.

Note:

For the time being, you can’t access our online application with online banking credentials from POP Bank.

If you are unable to sign up as a customer using the online application form for this or some other reason, please book an appointment at a Nordea branch by calling us.

1. Fill in the application and choose your services

Log in to the online application form using another Finnish bank’s online banking credentials.

Fill in your details and select the services you wish to open.

Note: If you choose our online banking credentials, a current account and a Nordea Debit card and activate Nordea Mobile, you can get your daily banking services for an affordable package price. See our service packages.

2. You will receive an SMS with instructions

Your application will be processed within a few banking days.

Once your application has been approved, you will receive an SMS in which we ask you to log in again to the ‘Become a customer online’ service. There you will see your Nordea user ID, which you will need for doing your banking.

3. Activate our digital services

Download the key banking apps to your phone or tablet:

  • Nordea ID is an app you need for strong identification.
  • Nordea Mobile is our mobile banking app, where you can do your banking any time, anywhere. You get our daily banking services at a lower price if you use Nordea Mobile

  • We offer free investment advice and benefits on insurance to all of our customers. Our customers aged 18 to 27 also enjoy special benefits on our investment services.
