How you benefit from cashback

Cashback means that you will get a cash reward for the purchases you pay with your credit card. You can earn rewards by charging your purchases to your card’s credit facility.

For example, if you buy clothes for 1,000 euros and pay for them with your credit card, you will get a cashback reward amounting to 0.5% to your credit account, which in this case is 5 euros.

We will pay the cashback rewards you have earned to your credit account once a month. This means that you won’t see the reward in your credit account immediately after your purchase, as it will be paid to you when the next invoicing period starts.

The maximum cashback reward is 150 euros per calendar year.

An economical way to use your credit card

If you use your credit card excessively, you may end up taking on too much debt. When you pay with your credit card, it’s sensible to pay back what you owe within 30 days to avoid accruing interest or other costs.

Nordea Platinum: our first card with cashback

Nordea Platinum and Nordea Black, which is offered to Private Banking customers, are our first credit cards including the cashback feature. The cards offer two different cashback rewards:

  • a reward of 0.5% for all purchases paid on credit, excluding cash transfers and gambling.
  • a reward of 0.7% for payments made in foreign currencies outside the euro area – this reward is applied until further notice to credit card payments in Sweden, the UK or the US, for example.
