Nordea Platinum

With Nordea Platinum you can pay your purchases easily both at home or abroad. You can also use your card to make purchases on the Internet and withdraw cash at ATMs. The card’s contactless payment feature allows you to pay for small purchases quickly and flexibly from your bank account. The combination card allows you to pay your purchases either from credit (Credit) or directly from your bank account (Debit). You will get a 30-day interest-free payment period on average for all the purchases from the credit and cash withdrawals you make with your card. When you get the invoice, you decide whether to pay the sum total, the minimum amount, or something in between*.

In Nordea’s Netbank or with a mobile app downloadable to your phone you can easily monitor your card purchases or change your card settings irrespective of time and place.

* With a Nordea Platinum credit card, the actual annual percentage rate of charge for an outstanding credit balance of 1,500 euros is 19,35% when the 3-month Euribor reference rate is 3,96% (12/2023), the monthly account management fee is 4.50 euros, the customer has opted for the free e-invoice and repays the credit in 12 monthly instalments (137 euros). The estimated total cost of the credit is 1,649 euros. The calculation assumes that the customer pays no fee for the principal card. The creditor is Nordea Bank Abp, Satamaradankatu 5, Helsinki, or Nordea Finance Finland Ltd, Aleksis Kiven katu 9, Helsinki.

Priority Pass

As a holder of Nordea Platinum, you can enjoy the Priority Pass lounges at more than 1 500 airports all over the world. Your Priority Pass card gives you six free lounge stays a year. If you want, you can take your guest with you to a lounge. In this case a free stay is charged for each of your guest. In the Priority Pass airport lounges, you can enjoy free drinks and snacks, read the latest magazines and newspapers and, in most lounges, use a free Wi-Fi during your trip.

To take advantage of your Priority Pass benefit, register your membership at prioritypass.com/nordea. In order to register for the Priority Pass service you’ll need the details of your Nordea Platinum credit card and the Nordea ID app or the Nordea ID device for authentication. Begin by entering the number of your Nordea Platinum credit facility into the Payment Card Number field. Once you have provided all the requested card and invoicing details, confirm your Priority Pass membership with your Nordea ID app or Nordea ID device. You have to enable online payments with your card before you register for the Priority Pass service. You can do this in Nordea Mobile or Netbank. 

Once you have registered for the Priority Pass service, download the Priority Pass app to your mobile device from your app store (App Store or Google Play). Log in to the app with your user ID and password that you created when you registered for the Priority Pass service. Once you have done this, you’re ready to start using the app and your digital Priority Pass membership card.

The digital membership card included in the Priority Pass mobile app gives you access to lounges. The app also provides you with up-to-date information on airport lounges covered by the Priority Pass benefit across the world as well as information on additional benefits and discounts at different airports. In the app, you can easily check how many lounge visits you have made. 

You can also get the lounge benefit by showing your physical Nordea Platinum card at the lounge reception. If you only show your card at the reception, remember to always mention that your Nordea Platinum card includes the Priority Pass benefit to ensure that you can enter free of charge. You have to enable online payments with your card every time you visit a Priority Pass lounge.

If you haven’t registered your Priority Pass membership in advance, you need to use your physical Nordea Platinum card and the Nordea ID app or Nordea ID device to verify your identity when you visit a lounge for the first time. Please note that you also have to enable online payments with your Nordea Platinum card every time you visit a Priority Pass airport lounge.

Frequently asked questions: 

1. I have already registered for the Priority Pass service using another card. Can I register other cards from Nordea or another service provider in the Priority Pass service? You can only register one card per user ID in the Priority Pass service. If you have previously registered another card in the Priority Pass service, you need to create a new user ID for your Nordea Platinum card in order to be able to register it.

2. I forgot to register my membership but would like to make use of my airport lounge benefit. What should I do?   You can also access airport lounges with your physical Nordea Platinum credit card. If you haven’t registered for the digital membership card or downloaded the mobile app in advance but would like to take advantage of your benefit and access a lounge with your Nordea card, the registration will be done on your behalf in the lounge. For the registration, you’ll need your Mastercard and your Nordea ID app or Nordea ID device for authentication.

If you use your physical Mastercard to access a lounge, remember to mention that you are a Priority Pass member to ensure that you can enter free of charge. Please note that you can’t access lounges with a card added to your phone’s mobile wallet, such as Apple Pay. 

3. Priority Pass has placed an authorisation hold on my credit card. What does this mean? When you register your digital membership card in the Priority Pass service, a temporary authorisation hold of 1 euro is placed on your credit card. A temporary authorisation hold of 1 euro is also placed on your credit card every time you access a lounge. The authorisation hold is used to confirm that your credit card is valid. The amount is released after the authorisation hold expires.

4. What should I do if I can’t access a lounge with my mobile app or card? If you have problems with accessing a lounge, please check that you have enabled online payments with your card. Online payments need to be enabled to confirm that your card is valid. You can do this in Nordea Mobile or Netbank.

Also check that your card details in the service are up to date. You need to update your card details every time your card is renewed. If your digital membership card still doesn’t work, please contact Priority Pass customer support on +44 20 8680 1338, which is available 24/7.  

Nordea Platinum

Travel insurance

Nordea Platinum features continuous travel insurance for trips at home and abroad. The insurance is valid even if you do not pay your trip with the card. The insurance covers 16–78-year-old Nordea Platinum holders and the accompanying family members in accordance with the insurance terms. Travel insurance covers compensation for travel illness and travel accident, including transportation, luggage insurance and compensation for cancellation or interruption of the trip. The insured is also entitled to compensation for delayed luggage or flights, interruption of the trip or missed departure or connection. The travel insurance also includes liability insurance.

With Nordea Platinum you can have parallel cards for all your family members who are 15 years or older. You can apply for a parallel card at a Nordea branch. Go to a Nordea branch together with the applicant for the parallel card. Adult cardholders can attach their bank account to their card for using the debit facility. You can set a separate usage limit for a parallel card if you want to limit the use of the card. The transactions of all cards are shown on the same invoice.

The Nordea Black card offers you different ways to pay, individual service and unique advantages.

  • Extended Warranty provides useful additional cover in the case of broken home or consumer appliances when the appliance has been paid in full with the card's credit facility. Extended Warranty is in force for a maximum period of 2 years and its validity begins when the manufacturer's or seller's warranty ends.
  • Cancellation cover for event tickets compensates you for the price of your unused ticket in the case of unexpected hindrances. 
  • The golfer's cover compensates you for the theft of equipment or personal items while golfing and the costs of hole-in-one celebratory drinks. You can also claim compensation for unused membership fees of a golf association or club or for golf tournament fees when they have been paid in full with Nordea Black's credit facility.  
  • The identity theft insurance protects the cardholder from the illegal use of his or her name and personal identity number when someone is trying to use them to open a credit or bank account.
