How we target marketing in social media based on customer data
As our customer, you may see content tailored to your preferences on social media when you give us permission to target marketing to you. This way we can show you relevant offers, advice and posts, for example, based on your circumstances or the services you currently have with us. This content is related to our products and services, including savings products, loans and cards.
We conduct targeted marketing on Meta’s platforms, namely Facebook and Instagram. You will only see marketing content that is specifically targeted to you if you have consented to receiving it.
How does targeted advertising work on Meta’s platforms?
When you consent to us showing you targeted marketing on Meta’s platforms, we will connect your email address or phone number to your details in Meta’s user database. If the email address or phone number you have provided to us is the same one you use on Meta’s platforms, we can show you tailored content on Facebook and Instagram.
Examples:
- You have savings in Nordea. Based on this information, we will show you relevant information on the market situation or our services related to saving.
- You have recently taken out a home loan from us. Based on this information, we won’t show you ads that are designed for people looking to apply for a home loan.
Your email address and phone number are processed in an encrypted format, ensuring anonymity. Information about your financial situation and other information about your customer relationship stays between you and us, and we do not share any of this information with Meta. Meta is not allowed to use your email address or phone number for any purpose other than targeting our marketing content to you.
How will you see marketing content targeted to you on Meta’s platforms?
If you want to receive relevant content from us on Facebook and Instagram, you have to:
- make sure that the email address or phone number you have provided to us and the one you use for Facebook or Instagram are the same. You can find the email address and phone number you have provided to us under your details in Nordea Mobile or Netbank.
- Consent to us sharing your email address or phone number with Meta. This allows us to provide you with relevant content on Facebook and Instagram. You can withdraw your consent at any point.
How to give or withdraw your consent
To give or withdraw your consent, follow the steps below:
- Log in to Nordea Mobile or Netbank.
- In Nordea Mobile, go to the Profile tab and select “Consents”. In Nordea Netbank, click your name in the upper right corner of the page and select “Consents”.
- Go to “I consent to Nordea showing me targeted marketing on Facebook and Instagram”. Here you can either give or withdraw your consent.
Please note that we also have general ads on social media. If you withdraw your consent because you don’t want to receive targeted marketing on Facebook and Instagram, please note that you may still see our general advertisement.
