How we contact you

We send our customers targeted email newsletters with relevant tips to help you manage your banking. You will automatically receive our newsletter once you have given us consent to send you targeted marketing by email.  

You can update your consent preferences in the Consents section of Nordea Mobile or Netbank. In Nordea Mobile, you can find Consents under your Profile. In Nordea Netbank, open the drop-down menu under your name to find Consents. 

We also send customer surveys by email to help us improve our services and the overall customer experience.

Never log in to banking services via a link in an email

The links in our newsletters usually take you to nordea.fi or nordea.com, where you can find more useful information about our banking services, among other topics.  

However, you should never log in to Nordea Netbank or any other service when accessing our website through a link in an email. Emails can sometimes be phishing attempts, where the sender is pretending to be from Nordea. In such cases, the website linked in the emails may also be fake. 

When you want to log in to Nordea Netbank, it’s safer to type the full web address directly into your browser’s address bar or open Nordea’s website from your browser’s favourites.

Emails in connection with the activation of the Nordea ID app 

If you activate the Nordea ID app with an activation code, you will receive an email from us, confirming that the Nordea ID app has been activated.

We will send the email from the address noreply.notifications@nordea.com. The message contains a text in Finnish, Swedish and English, informing that a new activation of the Nordea ID app has been initiated. You don’t need to take any action in response to the email.

Note, however, that we will not send this email if you activate the app with a QR code or your identity document. If you haven’t activated the Nordea ID app with an activation code but receive this email, please contact us.

We send text messages to our customers for various reasons, including meeting reminders and to verify that a card transaction or credit transfer has genuinely been made by you. 

You may also receive a text message from us containing an activation code for the Nordea ID app, information about a renewed card or a request to review your card’s geographical usage settings or other card-related settings. 

The text messages we send never contain clickable links. We recommend that you never open links sent by text message or call phone numbers provided in text messages.

Text message confirmation for card transactions and credit transfers

You may get a text message from us asking you to confirm a card transaction or a credit transfer. We send these messages if we suspect your card or account is being used without authorisation. You may receive such a message at any time of the day. 

To respond, simply reply to the text message with a single letter A or B, depending on the options provided.  

These messages never contain links or phone numbers, and you will never be asked to do anything other than reply with A or B.

You may also receive a reminder with the same content as in the original message. You can reply to the original message or the reminder within 24 hours after receiving the first message.

Text message confirmations sent by Nets for Nordea cards

Our partner, payment solutions provider Nets, may also send confirmation requests relating to Nordea cards by text message. These confirmation requests apply to Nordea Mastercard numbers beginning with 5225 or 5228. 

In addition to a verification question, these text messages contain a link to a form for disputing a transaction. However, we recommend accessing the Nets website through other means, such as by typing the web address directly into your browser or by using the links provided below.

You may receive a call from Nordea if you have contacted us through a message in Nordea Netbank or via chat, submitted a loan application or filled in our contact form, for example.  

In some cases, we may call you to tell you about a current offer or invite you to a meeting to review your banking needs together. 

In all these situations, it’s important to make sure that the caller really is from Nordea, as scammers may also pose as bank employees over the phone.

How to verify that a call is from Nordea 

If the caller does not suggest it at the beginning of the call, let them know that you would like to verify the authenticity of the call.  

You can verify the call either in Nordea Mobile or in the Nordea ID app. 

1. Option 1: Log in to Nordea Mobile during the call. As soon as you log in to the app, you will see a confirmation that the call is coming from us. Note that this feature is available from app version 4.30 onwards, and you must have enabled notifications for Nordea Mobile on your device. 
2. Option 2: Open your Nordea ID app and use the “Verify call” feature. 

If you can’t confirm that you are talking to a Nordea employee using the options above, hang up and call Nordea Customer Service yourself to confirm that the call was authentic. 

In Nordea Mobile and Netbank, you will often receive messages about our services and practical tips to help you manage your banking. 

As an example, you may see messages tailored to you and other customers in similar situations on the home page of Nordea Mobile and Netbank. These messages may include recommendations for services that we believe could be relevant for you. 

Nordea Mobile and Netbank are secure environments, so it’s safe to open links included in these messages. If a link from one of these messages takes you to our website, it’s safe to log back in to Nordea Netbank and sign up for new banking services.

Customer notices and messages in Nordea Mobile and Netbank

You will receive important information in Nordea Mobile and Netbank about changes to services, benefits, prices and terms and conditions. This helps you stay up to date with matters that affect you. 

You can find customer notices and many other important messages under “Message and chat history” on the Help tab in Nordea Mobile and Netbank. 

If you don’t bank online, you will receive our customer notices on paper by post. 

Money Minute messages for young customers in Nordea Mobile and Netbank

We are sending a series of Money Minute messages to customers aged 16 to 17 via Nordea Mobile and Netbank. The messages appear in the notifications section of Nordea Mobile and Netbank. 

Money Minute is a monthly content series designed to help young people protect themselves against scams and build their financial skills. The messages cover relevant topics for young people, such as budgeting tips, financial terms, information about pay and earnings and important advice on how to stay safe from scams. 

A minor or their guardian can opt out of receiving these messages at any time by sending us a message through the Help section in Nordea Mobile or Netbank, using our chat service or calling us from the Nordea Mobile app.
