How much does it cost to invest in funds?

Ongoing charges indicate each fund’s total costs during the previous calendar year. They include all costs with the exception of trading costs and a possible performance-based fee. The management fee that is often included in ongoing charges is an annual fee charged on a fund and it includes the fee paid to the depositary.

Some funds may charge a performance-based fee in addition to the management fee. Nordea funds registered in Finland do not charge a performance-based fee.

Where can I find the current prices of Nordea’s funds?

You can find all of Nordea’s funds and up-to-date data on the funds on the Nordea Funds website and Nordea’s Funds Now service.

You can also see the prices of our funds in Nordea Mobile and Netbank under “Savings and Investments” for each individual fund. You can find funds on the “Find investments” page.

What are management fees, subscription fees and redemption fees?

The fund company charges a fixed management fee for managing the fund. The management fee covers costs such as portfolio management, value calculation, maintaining the book-entry register, producing fund materials required by regulations, and in Finland, fees charged by the depositary.

Nordea’s funds are usually not subject to subscription and redemption fees when orders are submitted via Nordea Mobile or Netbank. However, external fund distributors may charge a subscription and/or redemption fee. In addition to this, some of Nordea’s non-UCITS investment funds charge a redemption fee that is credited to the fund. The aim is to cover redemption costs. Remember to always check the up-to-date data on the fund before subscription or redemption.

How do costs impact the return on a fund?

This will largely depend on the return and cost level of the individual fund. Please note that the daily value and return figures of the fund already take into account the fund’s costs, such as the ongoing charges, performance-based fees and trading costs. If you track the performance of a fund on the website or in Netbank, note that the costs have been taken into account.

How do you calculate the ongoing charges of funds and what is included?

The costs of funds can be divided into product fees and service fees. Product fees include fund management fees. Service fees include brokerage fees.

Ongoing charges include all ongoing management fees of an investment product deducted from the daily value of the fund. Examples of these include the management fee of the fund and possible administrative or operating costs. Ongoing charges do not include the transaction costs or possible performance-based fees.
