Card usage areas

Limiting the use increases security, as the card can only be used in the places you have authorised. The limited use applies to card payments and cash withdrawals at ATMs but not to online purchases.

Business Visa Debit

If you are the cardholder, you can change the restrictions on using your Business Visa Debit card abroad through your personal Netbank under: Cards > Business Visa Debit > Usage area. If you do not have personal online banking access codes with Nordea, you can change the restrictions on using the card abroad by contacting Nordea Business Centre

First Card

If you have a First Card card, you can change the card usage areas in the First Card application or in the Cardholder's online service.

There are four alternatives to select from

  • Finland
  • Estonia and the Nordic countries: Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Iceland
  • Europe*
  • The whole world

*By choosing Europe as your geographical limitation, you can use your card in the following countries:

Finland, Sweden, Norway (incl. Bear Island), Denmark (incl. Faroe Islands and Greenland), Iceland, Estonia, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, France, Germany, Greece, Holy See (Vatican City), Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal (incl. Madeira and Azores), Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (incl. Canary Islands), Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom (incl. Channel Islands, Gibraltar and Isle of Man). 

Using the card online

Security in online payments has been continuously improved. Nowadays card payments are more secure than ever thanks to strong identification when confirming a transaction.

Business Visa Debit

Enable online payments for your Business Visa Debit card and you can start shopping online. It’s free-of-charge and you can do it yourself:  

  • in mobile bank under your card settings 
  • in Netbank under “Cards”  
  • in Nordea Business
  • by calling Nordea Customer Service and identifying yourself with your online access codes

Confirming purchases is easy with the Nordea ID app. Even if you’re not a Nordea customer, you can obtain the app for authenticating your identity when making card payments online.

First Card and Nordea Business Mastercard

For First Card and Nordea Business Mastercard online payment is enabled by default.

Checking or unlocking PIN

Business Visa Debit

You can check the PIN for your Business Visa Debit card through your personal Netbank under: Cards > Business Visa Debit > View PIN code. If you do not have personal online banking access codes with Nordea, you can ask for the PIN by calling Nordea Business Centre.

If you are the cardholder or the person authorised to represent the company, you can unlock the PIN by calling Nordea Business Centre. Please have your personal online banking codes at hand when calling. 

First Card

If you are the cardholder, you can check the PIN by calling Nordea Business Centre.  Please have your personal online banking codes at hand when calling. 

If you lose your card

If you lose your card, it is stolen or an ATM abroad seizes it, report the incident immediately to the Finnish banks’ blocking service.

Making a loss report is simplest when you know your card’s number (16 digits).

If your card is stolen, report the crime to the police.
