Google Pay - A quick and easy way to pay

Google Pay is a quick and simple way to pay with a card using your Android device. You can now pay your purchases quickly and easily – no matter if you shop in big department stores, your favourite coffee shop around the corner or online. You can use Google Pay wherever contactless payments are accepted – just look for the contactless payment symbol on the payment terminal.

Paying is safe

When you use your phone to pay in stores, Google Pay will not send the actual number of your debit or credit card with your payment. Instead, a virtual account number is used to represent your information, keeping your card details safe.

Two easy ways to get started

If you have an account with Nordea, you can easily set up Google Pay in Nordea Mobile. Another easy way is to use the Google Wallet app, which we recommend downloading in any case to manage the cards you have added.

If you have an account with Nordea, set up Google Pay in mobile bank

If you are familiar with the Nordea Mobile app, setting up Google Pay is easy. Just make sure you have the latest version of Nordea Mobile. You can also download the app below.

  1. Open Nordea Mobile and select the card you want to use.
  2. Select Details or Settings. Tap “Add to Google Pay”.
  3. Follow the steps of the verification process and accept the terms and conditions.

Download Google Pay to manage your cards

In the Google Pay app, you can choose which card you want to pay with and change your default card. You can also get started and activate your card directly in the app.

  1. Open or download Google Wallet.
  2. Tap “+ Payment method” on the Payment tab and enter the card details.
  3. Follow the instructions and accept the terms and conditions.
  4. Verify the card registration in Nordea Mobile. Open Nordea Mobile and select your card. Then under Settings, select ‘Manage devices’ and confirm with the Nordea ID app.

In stores with your smartphone

You can use Google Pay wherever contactless payments are accepted.

  • With low value payments, you just need to wake up your phone and hold it near the payment terminal. Your purchases will be charged to your default payment card.
  • When making high value payments, unlock your device and hold it near the payment terminal. You won’t need to open any apps. Your purchases will be charged to your default payment card.

If you don’t want to use the default card, unlock your phone and open the Google Pay app. Select the card you want to pay with and hold your phone near the payment terminal. And that’s it.

Speed through checkout online

With Google Pay you can pay with a few taps or clicks in apps and online. Just follow the payment process – and that’s it. There’s no need to enter your payment info.
