You can apply for a Nordea Gold card if you:

• are aged 18 or over
• have a regular income
• have a clean credit record
• have permanent residency in Finland

Note:

• If you are a university student, you can get a Nordea Gold card without a regular income. You need to be admitted to study in a university, university of applied sciences or some other higher education institution.

The travel insurance included in Nordea Gold Mastercard is valid during your leisure trips abroad if you pay your trip with the credit facility of your card.

When you pay with the credit facility of your card, you qualify for protection under the Finnish Consumer Protection Act. It covers the cost of your plane tickets if the airline company goes bankrupt before or during your trip, for example.

You can add Nordea Gold to your phone, smart watch or other wearables – and start making mobile payments! You can also make mobile payments exceeding 50 euros with your phone.

Nordea’s cards are compatible with Google Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. When you add both the credit and the debit side to these apps, you can flexibly choose between paying on credit and paying from your bank account.

How to apply for a student’s Nordea Gold credit card

Sign up as our university student customer

1. A handy combination card. Nordea Gold gives you the flexibility to charge your purchases either to your bank account (debit) or to the credit facility (credit). You will get an interest-free payment period of 30 days on average for purchases charged to the credit facility. You can pay off your credit balance in full whenever you like or repay it in monthly instalments. After the interest-free payment period, you will pay interest on the remaining balance as determined in the card terms and conditions.
2. Safe purchases. Nordea Gold comes with comprehensive travel insurance for trips abroad and Product Safety Insurance protecting items you buy for your home. They cover the purchases you pay with the card’s credit facility and remain valid even if you pay off the credit balance right after you make the purchase. Read more about the insurance policies that come with your credit card
3. User-friendly digital services. Adjusting the card’s payment settings is easy in Nordea Mobile or Netbank. You can determine the cut-off date for your credit card invoice as well as the instalment percentage (3–100%). You will always have the option to make repayments before the invoice is generated.

You can increase the credit limit of your card in Nordea Mobile or Netbank.

Nordea Mobile:

1. Open Nordea Mobile and select your Nordea Gold card under Accounts and cards.
2. Select ‘Increase your credit limit’ and fill in the application form.

Nordea Netbank:

1. Log in and select Finances, then Cards.
2. Select your Nordea Gold card from the list.
3. Select ‘Increase your credit limit’ and fill in the application form.

You can apply to increase your credit limit if you have a regular income, a good payment history and a clean credit record. The factors determining the credit limit you can get include your income, your current debt and the balance of your finances.

With a Nordea Gold credit card, the actual annual percentage rate of charge for an outstanding credit balance of 1,500 euros is 12,52% when the 3-month Euribor reference rate is 2,36% (04/2025), the monthly account management fee is 4.50 euros, the customer has opted for the free e-invoice and repays the credit in 12 monthly instalments (139 euros). The estimated total cost of the credit is 1,598 euros. The calculation assumes that the customer has a Mobile Plus or Basic package and therefore gets the card with no monthly or annual fee. Nordea Gold Mastercard is an international charge and credit card and a continuous credit facility which is valid until further notice. The creditor is Nordea Bank Abp, Satamaradankatu 5, Helsinki, or Nordea Finance Finland Ltd, Aleksis Kiven katu 9, Helsinki.
