Information security

The safety and security of online banking services depend on the features of your computer, your Internet connection and your online bank, as well as on how you use the services.
Online banking is safe if you ensure the data security of your computer and act in a responsible manner:

  • Always keep the firewall on.
  • Update the anti-virus software on your computer regularly.
  • Be vigilant when using the Internet.
  • Store access codes in a secure place; do not give them to anyone else.
  • Make sure that an outsider cannot access your Netbank.

Access codes: your responsibilities and obligations

Familiarise yourself with the use of access codes. Read the agreement terms and conditions and ensure data security by complying with the security instructions and the terms and conditions of Netbank use.

The bank’s responsibility and obligations as a service provider

As a service provider, the bank is responsible for protecting its Netbank program with the best possible solutions, such as SSL encryption and a system of changing codes. The bank monitors the development of data security threats and solutions continuously and takes them into account in its data protection solutions.
This data security site utilises the electronic guidebooks of the Ministry of Transport and Communications as a source of additional information, Data Security Guide for example. The site also contains links to the virus scanners of F-Secure. The bank is not liable for the up-to-datedness of the information on the source sites used.
