Visa Debit

Description

Visa Debit is an international chip card with which you can withdraw cash and pay for purchases in Finland and abroad at points of sale carrying the Visa symbol.

Visa Debit contains a contactless payment feature with which you can pay for purchases that cost less than 25 euros by holding the card close to the payment terminal. You do not need to insert your card into the payment terminal or key in your PIN.

Purchases and cash withdrawals made with the card are always debited to the bank account linked to the card. The Visa Debit card does not include a charge card or credit facility.

With Visa Debit you can pay for your online purchases safely once you have connected your card to the Verified by Visa online payment service.

How to order a MyMoney card

If you have Nordea's access codes, it is easy to add a picture to your present card in Netbank. Order a card of your own design under Cards > Picture to card. If you order a new card, you can select a picture when filling in the application.

It is possible to order a picture to MasterCard Silver, MasterCard Gold, Visa Silver, Visa Gold, Visa Electron and Visa Debit. The price of the MyMoney card is 12 euros per card order. The price is charged in connection with the production of a new or renewed card.

Support a good cause with MyMoney card

• If you order a card with a picture related to the Clean Baltic Sea theme you can support the Clean Baltic Sea projects of the John Nurminen Foundation.
  
• When you order a card with a picture of the Women's Bank you support the Women's Bank fund of the Finn Church Aid foundation.

Nordea donates 3 euros of the price of MyMoney cards either to the Clean Baltic Sea projects or the Women's Bank fund, depending on the picture you have chosen.

Visa Debit for a minor

You can apply for a Visa Debit card:

• without your parents' (guardians') consent if you are 16 or older and receive earned income to a bank account you have opened 
  
• with your parents' (guardians') consent if you are 16–17 years old and study at a polytechnic, a university or another institute of higher education.

Applying for a card with a guardian

Bring at least one of your parents (guardians) with you when you go to a branch to order a card. You also need a power of attorney signed by your other parent.

When filling in the card application, your parents will choose whether the card is mailed to your home address or whether you can pick it up by yourself from a branch.
