Sasja Beslik awarded for work with responsible investments

09.03.2011Sasja Beslik, head of responsible investments & governance at Nordea, has been awarded the title of Young Global Leader 2011 by the World Economic Forum.

The title implies that for five years Sasja Beslik will be an ambassador of a global network aiming to influence international companies to increase their social responsibility. Together with other members he will be invited to give and attend lectures in various forums throughout the world.

In 2007 Nordea was the first Nordic bank to sign the UN Principles for Responsible Investment. In 2010 an association promoting responsible investment was established in Finland: Finland’s Sustainable Investment Forum ry, FINSIF. Nordea is one of the founder members of the association.

World Economic Forum

Young Global Leader

Is an award which World Economic Forum presents each year to between 100 and 200 young leaders under 40 who in different ways have distinguished themselves in their fields, and have demonstrated great commitment to society and the global community. Prizes are presented by Queen Rania of Jordan, who also chairs the nomination committee that selects the prize winners. The forum Young Global Leaders currently comprises 750 leaders from various organisations, companies and industries across the world.
